As a girl looking to lose weight, save money, and eat healthy, I was very interested in the idea of Soylent when I first read about it. I knew that I was too lazy to make my own version at home, and I was not willing to wait months to receive an order of official Soylent. So after scouring numerous discussion boards, I decided that Axcho’s Schmoylent was the best solution. I chose Jennifer Fuel because 1500 calories/day were perfect for my weight loss goals, and the 50/20/30 ratio seemed like the right balance for me.

Within a week of placing my first order, my Schmoylent arrived. I followed the recommendation to prepare it the night before, and I have to admit I was a little nervous about what it would taste like. No one wants to spend $130 on a two-week supply of food just to be repulsed by the flavor. But I was pleasantly surprised! To me, it tasted like pancake batter, which is great since I’ve always been the one to lick the spoon (and sometimes the bowl!) when making pancakes. I honestly thought it was pretty tasty, not too sweet, not too bland.

My first batch was a little thick, but that was easily remedied by adding a bit of water. I then spread out my day’s supply over four very filling “meals”, but by the end of day, I still had some leftover. That just goes to show how satisfying Schmoylent is.

Needless to say, I’m extremely happy with this product, and, like everyone else, I hope Axcho continues making it! I’m about to place my second order… this time for a month’s supply. If that’s not a ringing endorsement, I don’t know what is.
