Justin Fuel

Low-carb, high-protein blend.

Discontinued in favor of Light Fuel.

Justin Fuel has been discontinued in favor of Light Fuel.

Justin Fuel was designed for a customer with Type 2 Diabetes, with only 100g of carbs per day, and plenty of protein and fiber.

I used oat flour and rice protein in this blend to approximate the neutral flavor of Soylent. Also, lots of chia seeds.

I had great hopes for Schmoylent (and Soylent), but found the carbs pushed my blood glucose (Type 2 diabetic) *just* over the edge of acceptable. Justin’s Fuel is a great solution! I mainly use it for breakfast and the occasional lunch (on lazy days). Very filling, mild flavor, and fun chia seeds. I may experiment with adding some stevia for a little sweetness, but will see if I grow to like it as-is first. Thank you so much for developing this!

I’ve been replacing 1-2 meals per day with Justin fuel. The low carb/ higher protein made it a great option for me.

I find it to be very filling, but also very predictable. I know exactly how long I can go before I am hungry again. That makes it easy to plan the day, or if I know I’ll need to stretch the time, I don’t consume 1/3 of the mix at once.

For add-ins’ I’ve tried a shot of espresso in the morning. The first couple of servings I spiked with Carnation instant breakfast (1/2 packet) and/or cinnamon.

I’m likely going to continue to add cinnamon, but the carnation is out now that I’m more accustomed to the taste.

    Great job on this mix!

Axcho warned me when I ordered this that it is completely unsweetened as per Justin’s request. I’m not big on sweets so I went ahead with the order. I’m very happy with it! It is indeed not sweet.
My first impression was “it’s not bad…. but not particularly wonderful either.” Since then–one week ago–it has grown on me significantly. I enjoy the chia seeds although it was strange at first to chew a “beverage”.
My mom wanted to buy a bag from me to try out, but like Axcho I was concerned that she wouldn’t like the lack of sweetness. I shared some with both her and my dad, who each had the same reaction: “it’s not bad….it’s interesting”. She still wants a bag so I take that as a good sign!
I have been mixing an entire bag at a time in a Takeya pitcher I got from Amazon. I have been consuming about 1/3 of the mixture each day along with one meal of conventional food. I use less oil than specified. 90ml is 6 tablespoons; I use 1/3 cup which is about 78ml. I am fairly small and relatively sedentary so this level of intake works well. If I do have some physical activity I just supplement with a snack like cheese or fruit or a bowl of ice cream (or have a larger conventional meal). I may start consuming more like 1/2 a batch each day at some point soon. FYI, I have had no problem storing the mixture in the fridge for three full days.
Thank you Axcho for providing this service & product! I love having a soylent option in my life!!

This is the real deal. It tastes how I have heard the official soylent being described except it has a lower carb footprint which is exactly what I needed given that I have type 2 diabetes. I commissioned Alex to put together for me. He sent me 4 different mixes before we settled on this as being the best tasting with no bad aftertaste. It also has a good texture when left to chill overnight. Requires a small shake up before each taste (ie if you leave it in the fridge for an hour or so).
